Datahub Nepal, located in Tilottama, Butwal, takes a major step toward sustainable energy in the sensitive data industry. Datahub is a critical hub for managing and processing large volumes of data, requiring continuous, reliable power to support complex systems and operations. They depended on diesel generators and NEA utility power. This caused problems like frequent power cuts and voltage issues, which affected its sensitive equipment and operations.

Addressing these issues, Datahub in partnership with Gham Power installed an 83.16 kWp worth of solar power in just one month. The installation had challenges since the sensitive equipment required continuous operation. Shutting it down even for a few hours could risk losing important data. Despite this, Gham Power’s installation team carefully managed the process and completed the project smoothly without major issues, ensuring a successful shift to solar energy.

The impact of this installation is remarkable. Over the next 25 years, the system will reduce 220 tonnes of carbon emissions and displace 38 kiloliters of diesel. Additionally, Datahub will experience significant cost savings of 68.11% during daytime operations. Beyond saving costs and helping the environment, adopting solar energy shows Datahub’s dedication to innovation and sustainability in today’s energy-driven world.

This project highlights the increasing importance of renewable energy in industries that rely on high reliability. By embracing solar power, Datahub has ensured a stable and uninterrupted energy source and set a powerful example for other sectors. This is a major step forward proving that businesses can succeed with sustainable, reliable energy for smoother operations and a greener future.

We extend our heartfelt thank you and gratitude to the Nepal Renewable Energy Programme (NREP), the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) for their invaluable support in this project.
