Bhagyashree Udyog located in the heart of Biratnagar has taken a big step towards sustainability by installing a 224.4 kW solar power system in collaboration with Gham Power. This solar initiative addresses major energy challenges while fostering a cleaner and more eco-friendly future.
Before installing the solar system, Bhagyashree heavily relied on grid electricity and diesel generators. Frequent power cuts significantly increased diesel consumption, resulting in higher operational costs and environmental harm due to emissions. The dependency on diesel generators strained finances with rising fuel expenses, while unreliable power supply and escalating electricity bills disrupted operations, making it difficult to maintain efficiency and sustainability.

To address these challenges, Bhagyashree Udyog transitioned to renewable energy, making a fresh start with solar power. This shift has significantly reduced their reliance on diesel, resulting in substantial cost savings and a notable decrease in harmful emissions. The solar system now helps meet the company’s electricity needs sustainably, ensuring a consistent workflow without any disturbance and an eco-friendly power supply. By adopting solar energy, Bhagyashree has drastically reduced both its diesel usage and electricity expenses.
Over the next 25 years, Bhagyashree expects to reduce its electricity bills by 55.43% and displace 77.53 kiloliters of diesel. Moreover, this installation has made their operation smooth, leading to a sustainable and environmentally friendly practice. Similarly, the system will reduce their environmental impact by reducing 464 tonnes of carbon emissions. With solar, Bhagyashree has effectively reduced overall operational costs, enhanced work efficiency, and eliminated concerns about power outages.
